Today and tomorrow, the Euro-regional forum "Traditional Cultures in Dialogue" takes place in the emblematic Occitan location of Pont du Gard (between Nimes and Avinyó). It is the closing event of the Euro-regional project, attended by delegates from Fira Mediterrània Manresa. This project comprises the same partners as last time: Sa Xerxa for children and young people's theatre from the Balearic Islands and CIRDÒC - Interregional Centre of Occitan Development, the initiative's lead organisation.

Àngels Blasco, the general director of Traditional Culture and Associations, will be at the forum's official launch at 12.30 noon, set to include meetings, conferences and a range of festive activities based on traditional culture from Occitania, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands. As part of the scheduled activities, David Ibáñez, artistic director of Fira Mediterrània, will take part in a workshop on cultural mobility and he will give a talk to the Forum on education and traditional culture, presented at the last "Som Cultura Popular" (We Are Traditional Culture) Forum, in Barcelona. The artistic programme will include performances by the Habaneras group Les Anxovetes and the Menorcan singer Joana Gomila, as well as other Occitan groups.

The three partners of the project, representing Occitania, Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, have been working together to develop a common social, cultural and linguistic framework, focused on promoting intangible heritage, throughout 2017 and 2018. The Euro-regional project received high visibility at the last Fira Mediterrània through Focus Occitània, which publicised the rich intangible heritage of Occitania, emphasising four particular themes (folkloric figures, polyphony, dance and traditional games).
