The ITEM-International network for contemporary performing arts is due to hold a plenary meeting for all its members in Hull (UK) from 28 to 31 March. Fira Mediterrània Manresa, which is a member of Cofae (Coordinator of Performing Arts Fairs in Spain), will have representatives attending the event.
At Hull, the IETM will explore the reality of inclusion in today’s societies, in their artistic representations and in the process of creation. Themes to be examined will include race, ethnicity, faith, disability, age, sex, sexuality, class difference and social and institutional barriers that stop people from getting involved and enjoying the arts as a core element of the society in which they live. At the same time, the event will address how to strengthen associations and international collaborations. The programme includes talks, debates, performances, network meetings and more.
IETM comprises more than 450 performing arts associations and individual members, promoting contemporary performing arts worldwide.
