11th September. The National Day of Catalonia

Today, 11th September, we celebrate the National Day of Catalonia, declared officially since 1980 by the Parliament of Catalonia. This date commemorates symbolically defeat in 1714, which produced the painful loss of freedom of Catalan people, and claim for institutional and social values ​​and cultural identity in the hope of restoring Catalonia as a nation.
