This week, Pere Martínez and Txarango perform abroad thanks to Fira Mediterrània

As a result of the 2015 Fira Mediterrània Manresa National and International Plan of Action, two Catalan bands will perform abroad this week. 

Firstly, the singer-songwriter, Pere Martínez, will perform on Thursday 29 October at 7 pm in the Ibn Zeydoun auditorium in Alger, the capital city of Algeria. This young Flamenco singer, who has given concerts at Fira for the last two years, is renowned for his powerful performances, despite his as yet short professional career. This concert has been made possible through a collaboration agreement started two years ago with the Agence Algérienne pour le Rayonnement Culturel (AARC). As a result of this collaboration agreement, the Algerian band El-Dey performed in Manresa last year. The initiative is also sponsored by the Insitut Ramon Llull.

Secondly, Txarango is set to play a concert on Friday 30 October at 11.20 pm, as part of the 5^th Medimex, music innovation auditorium line-up, held in the Italian city of Bari from 29 to 31 October. The musical fusion, with reggae as its bedrock, combined with dub, pop, Latin American music and a mix of Jamaican rhythms, rock and Latin American sounds, has met with huge success on Catalan stages.

Alongside the Catalan band’s performance, Fira Mediterrània will attend the major international music fair in Italy with its own stand. This initiative is part of an agreement with Puglia Sounds, an Italian music industry promoter, who oversaw arrangements for the Italian band BandAdriatica to perform recently in Manresa at Fira.

In addition to Algeria and Italy, Fira Mediterrània upholds agreements with countries such as Germany, France and Portugal, as well as regions including Valencia, the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country, Aragon, and Castile and Léon.
