We are at the Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg Festival in Germany

The performing Arts and Music Fair Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg —now in its 29th year— is taking place from 22 to 25 January. Fira Mediterrània will be at the Culture Department of Generalitat de Catalunya stand, organised by the Trade fair Division of the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies. The German trade fair brings 22 Catalan companies and institutions to the event, and the activities taking place at the Catalan regional government’s stand include a networking meeting, featuring the Institute of Language and Culture of the Balearic Islands (ILLENC), organised with the aim of promoting professional networking.

In recent years, Catalan performing arts and music have become a benchmark for German booking agents, as a result of productions by Catalan companies that have subsequently go on to successfully tour Europe, in addition to other initiatives. A large number of the visitors to the German trade fair comprise booking agents for festivals and cultural institutions, which visit this market to book projects based on street art, theatre, magic, circus, installations and music. In 2016, more than 4500 people attended Kulturbörse, with a total number of 360 exhibitors giving 170 live performances, and artists and groups from 31 countries.
