This year, the Fira Mediterrània of Manresa has reached three cooperation agreements with autonomous regions of Spain, enabling eight different groups to form part of the 2011 programme of the official section. The Regional Governments of Andalucía, Aragon and the Basque Country have signed agreements to enable the artistic directors of the event to choose among the most outstanding performers of these regions. This means that a two-way cultural corridor can be structured towards the south to Andalucía which links up with the bands from Valencia and Murcia who are regular performers at the Fair, and also following the River Ebre through Aragon and the Basque Country.

Collaboration with Andalucía goes even further, as their Regional Government will also be present at the Professional Association of the Plaça Porxada with their stand and in one of the “networking meeting” sessions, which will take place on Friday at noon. The Government will also promote the typical cuisine of its region, as it does in other important fairs of the sector such as the recently held Huesca Fair and the Copenhagen Fair in Denmark. The overall group from these three regions will be made up of 23 professionals representing 6 companies and institutions, and at the same time 33 artists forming the eight performing groups and companies.
