Fira Mediterrània Manresa is at the 2015 Estivada, the inter-regional festival of Occitan culture that takes place in Rodés, in the Midi-Pyrenees region of France. The festival starts today and runs until 25 July. Estivada is one of Fira Mediterrània's main international partners in the Euro-Regional Heritage and Creation Forum project, approved by the Euroregion Pyrinees-Mediterranean, in which four agents representing the Occitan, Catalan and Balearic cultures work together to expand the common social, cultural and linguistic areas that connect these nationalities. As well as Fira Mediterrània and Estivada, the project members also include the Inter-Regional Centre of Occitan Development (CIRDÒC) and Sa Xerxa Teatre Infantil i Juvenil from the Balearic Islands.
During the festival, Fira Mediterrània will share a stand with its Euro-regional partners and will take part in the debate 'Occitània-Catalonia-Balearic Islands: a cultural area to be (re)constructed?’ on 23 July at 4pm.
At the same time, this year sees a production come to stage -the result of a collaboration between Fira Mediterrània and Estivada- by the groups and companies Ebri Knight, Teatre Nu (with their street performance 'Somnis d’Alícia') and Projecte Mut.
These activities are included within Fira Mediterrànea's 2015 National and International Plan of Action.
