The winning image in the 3rd MobileArt competition is a photo taken during the street performance of Bann a Pye by French company Rara Woulib, entered by @jorditowers. Fira Mediterrània of Manresa has announced the judges’ verdict in the MobileArt 2.0 photography competition, now in its third consecutive year. Entrants had to take photographs with their mobiles or tablets during the recent Fira event, held from 7 to 10 November 2013. The images were shared on social networks to build a mosaic of people's views of Fira Mediterrània. A total of 270 photographs were entered for the competition, with 232 published on Instagram, 33 on Twitter and 5 on Facebook.
The prize is a flight in a light aircraft courtesy of Escola de Vol del Bages flying school. The finalists were these Instagram users: @ebarbeclotet, @geganto, @hazel_grace27, @icultur, @jordi_mira, @jordips20, @montserratfuste, @pliake, @thundershead and Facebook user Joan Martinez Rivera. All finalists will be getting a Fira branded bag.
The first MobileArt was a fairly low-key affair, with only 16 photos entered, but last year’s competition received the grand total of 232 entries. For the second year running, Instagram was by far the most popular network for sharing photos.
The judges for the 3rd MobileArt event were all representatives of Fira Mediterrània Manresa Foundation.
