From 7 to 10 November, 16th Fira Mediterrània of Manresa will be presenting 113 shows at 232 performances plus a total of up to 350 events, a third of which are accessible only with a valid ticket.
From 7 to 10 November, 16th Fira Mediterrània of Manresa will be presenting 113 shows at 232 performances plus a total of up to 350 events, a third of which are accessible only with a valid ticket. Some of the most outstanding artists expected to perform at Fira are Kiko Veneno (premiering his new orchestrated production); Basque musician Kepa Junkera; renowned Tunisian choreographer Héla Fattoumi, with Manta, a hard-hitting look at women and the veil in the Arab world; concerts in El Sielu (European progressive jazz trio Aka Balkan Moon, Catalexi by Sergi Sirvent, Israeli artist Mor Karbasi, Franca Masu from Alghero plus new Flamenco talent Rocío Márquez from Andalusia); the closing show, the mega production Músiques en Terres de Cruïlla, in which band music and jota songs are provided by Agrupació Musical Senienca, Carmen París, the Quicos, Pep Gimeno "Botifarra", Miquela Lladó and Claudio G. Sanna; Jordi Savall’s Celtic Viol a celebration of artistically priceless traditions that must be protected; the new show by Valencians Miquel Gil and Pep Gimeno 'Botifarra'; Mañana es Mañana, the latest production by Cridacompany, featuring daring modern circus performed by a young group with one foot in France and the other in Catalonia; Cru, by the company Fet a mà (France-Catalonia), an exceptional piece of circus without props and based on the poetry of movement; the Circ Pànic marquee in Pati del Casino; and historic group Comediants as they celebrate 40 years of work alongside Banda de l’Escola Municipal de Música de Berga in the show Ecos de Patum.
Evenings on the DAMM / Milcentenari stage
The DAMM / Milcentenari stage will be hosting the coolest performances. On Friday evening the stage will be hosting Occitan group Goulamas'k and their mix of folk, reggae, dub and ragga, plus Moussu T e lei Jovents, with their new album, followed by Catalan group Els Catarres and Valencians Orxata. Saturday is Folk Dance Night with performances by Quico el Cèlio, el Noi i el Mut de Ferreries, Xeremiers de Mallorca, Tazzuff, Castanha é Vinovèl (also from Occitania) and Valencians Urbàlia Rurana.
