The 15th Fira Mediterrània Manresa presents a two-day Professional Conference on the topic of ‘Communication in Cultural Projects’, focusing on communication and image. The conference will be held on 8 and 9 November.
The French town Chalon-sur-Saône in the Burgundy region of France hosts the 29th performing street arts festival, Chalon dans la rue, until 26 July.

Tomorrow -3 October- Fira Mediterrània’s artistic director David Ibanez will be at Trovam!, taking part in the second professional conference at the Hemp Exchange Market in Castellon. He is set to discuss music marketplaces in Catalonia and the Valencia region, as well as opportunities for collaboration between agents in the Mediterranean corridor, with Joan Gregori Maria (VAM member).
On Saturday 29 July, Fira Mediterrània attended a professional gathering as part of the Occitan Estivada Festival, which has been taking place in Rodez.
The well known French company Karnavires, that performed in last Fira Mediterrania Manresa/ Catalonia and also in 2004 edition, will be in the opening of Marseille Provence 2013 European Capital of Culture. They will be in Marseille and in Gardanne for two sound and festive fireworks performances for the GRANDE CLAMEUR (the loud shout) next Saturday 12 of January.

On 22 and 23 November, the Sant Boi-Can Barraquer museum will be holding its first Popular and Traditional Culture Event in Sant Boi, with the aim of holding joint discussions between organisations and the administration. The initiative is promoted by the sector committee representing the town’s popular and traditional culture organisations and the intention is to tackle a series of problems, such as generational handover and better visibility for events held by local organisations.

Delegates from Fira Mediterrània Manresa are attending Visa for Music, the first African and Middle Eastern music trade fair from 16 to 19 November. They will be at a joint stand with the Ministry of Culture (as part of the Trade Fair Division of the Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies (ICEC) and the Creative Catalonia brand).

Casa de la Música de Manresa has received 94 proposals from artists keen to take part in the third Estepa Mediterrània, the “Off” programme at Fira Mediterrània of Manresa. Casa de la Música are planning Estepa Mediterrània jointly with Fira Mediterrània of Manresa, due to hold its fifteenth event from 8 to 11 November 2012.
Remember that Fira is an interdisciplinary event and the programme covers all artistic languages – visual arts, circus, dance, exhibitions, music, oral narrative and theatre. Arts projects can be submitted under two main themes:
The 7th Medimex, International Festival and Music Conference, will take place from 7 to 10 June in Taranto, in the region of Apulia (Italy).
The ITEM International network for contemporary performing arts is due to hold a plenary meeting for all its members in Hull (UK) from 28 to 31 March.
In cooperation with the 15th Fira Mediterrània of Manresa, this musical proposal continues the line of redeveloping the concept of Mediterranean roots.
