Fira Mediterrània de Manresa is taking part in the 27th Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg, Germany’s largest performing arts fair. It started yesterday evening and runs until 29 January. Fira Mediterrània’s presence at the German Marketplace is part of a collaboration agreement between the two events. This year, Kulturbörse has selected 14 Catalan companies to perform in its line-up.
Fira Mediterrània is set to take part in the 7th Social Inclusion and Education in the Performing Arts conference, at the Gayarre Theatre in Pamplona, on 12 and 13 March. At the event, Fira will talk about its open and inclusive vision of popular culture. The conference is organised by the National Institute of Performing Arts and Music (INAEM).
Catalan industry professionals will participate in CINARS, a two-yearly performing arts and music festival, and M pour Montréal and Mundial Montréal festivals, in Quebec this November.
The Fira Mediterrània has confimed its choice of the human tower groups to perform at the event in Manresa. At 6pm on Saturday 9th November the Plana de l’Om, the square which has become a classic venue for these human towers, will play host to two of the groups that took part in the important St. Felix’ Day event in Vilafranca del Penedès. These are the Colla Minyons de Terrassa and the Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls, members of the select body of the top human tower groups.

Here’s a preview of the programme for the one-day Professional Event at the 2013 Viladecans Festival Internacional de Teatre i Animació Al Carrer (international festival of street theatre and entertainment) on Friday 5 July. The venue is Cúbic in Viladecans and the event is expected to run from 10.30 am to 6.30 pm.
Registration must be done before Friday 12th October to appear in the professional catalogue

All artists and distributors interested in presenting proposals for the 15th edition of the Fira Mediterrània of Manresa may do so until 16 March. At the last call, 1,251 delegates belonging to 712 contracting entities from 28 different countries attended this market of performances with Mediterranean roots, which featured 270 scheduled activities and 121 different artistic training courses.
The Portuguese live music circuit OuTonalidades, organised by the Dorfeu cultural association –one of Fira Mediterrània’s international partners- has opened its registration period for groups that want to perform in the 19th live music circuit. The call is open to bands and groups of any genre from around the world. If the group comes from outside Portugal, there must be the possibility of exchange with a music circuit in the group’s country of origin that agrees to include a Portuguese group in its line-up.
FiraTàrrega opens today, a major international performing arts marketplace currently in its 14th year. For four days, FiraTàrrega will become the nerve centre of the street theatre industry and performing arts in general, featuring a stunning artistic line-up and professional events that have increasing international scope. Fira Mediterrània is also attending the event, at stand 28 of the FiraTàrrega business area.
