The 17th Fira Mediterrània of Manresa will be held from 9 to 12 October 2014 For energy-saving and weather reasons, the Board of Fira Mediterrània of Manresa Foundation has agreed to bring Fira forward to the second weekend in October. Better weather, before the clocks go back for winter and no competition from other similar events all mean that the new dates are a much better opportunity for a festival like Fira, with so many street performances.

  Placing an advert in the 16th Fira Mediterrania Manresa-Catalonia Guide is a highly effective way to promote yourself to the international performing arts industry. This easy resource book is used all year round by performing arts professionals and is packed with 280 pages of relevant contacts, detailed artist, speaker & speed-dating information, international delegates coming from 30 countries, journalists, photographers and much more.

This year, Fira Mediterrània de Manresa has set up a permanent working party with arts sector professional assoaciations to improve communication channels between the culture market and the needs of professionals working in the various arts disciplines. The University of Valencia has recently published ‘Teatre breu: procediments, formes i contextos (Short plays: procedures, forms and contexts)', edited by Isabel Marcillas and Núria Santamaria. This is the 19th volume of the Teatre Segle XXI (XXI Century Theatre) collection, which will include twenty-five contributions to short plays.

El Instituto Catalán de las Empresas Culturales (ICEC) del Departamento de Cultura de la Generalitat de Cataluña hablará del caso de la Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, entre otras ferias y festivales destacados de Cataluña, en la mesa redonda que tendrá lugar en el marco del encuentro europeo de los Cuatro Motores de Europa (cooperación interregional) que se celebra durante los próximos días en Lyon (Francia).

Now is the time for presenting your proposal if you want to be selected for one of the Networking Meeting sessions at the 16th Fira Mediterrània of Manresa, due to be held from 7 to 10 November 2013. These short presentation slots of up to 15 minutes each are intended to enable sellers and buyers to make face-to-face contact with each other. In your allotted time slot, you have the chance to present your arts and culture projects or professional services to potential clients.

The Fira Mediterrània team will be at the Catalan Arts! (The Catalan Government's Catalan Institute for Cultural Companies, ICEC).

This September Fira Mediterrània de Manresa will be taking part in various important events in the arts sector. From 5th to 8th September, the Fira will have a stand at FiraTàrrega, an international landmark event for the performing arts. A week later, from 12th to 15th September, the Fira will also have a stand in the exhibitors’ area at the Mercat de Música Viva de Vic, a meeting place for professionals interested in live music.

During May, the Fira Mediterrània web site (www.firamediterrania.cat) received 1,069 hits, representing a total of 2,974 pages visited. Hits were mostly from the Spanish state, but also from other countries such as France, Italy, United Kingdom, Austria, the United States, Mexico, Germany, the Czech Republic and Greece.
