On Saturday 21 September, one of the events scheduled for the Festes de la Mercè will be the official launch of the album by Cobla Sant Jordi & Niño Josele “Live at the Kursaal Theatre”, coproduced by Fira Mediterrània of Manresa and Cobla, with support from the ‘Direcció General de Cultura Popular, Associacionisme i Acció Cultural’, part of the Government of Catalonia’s Department of Culture. The album was recorded live at the last Fira Mediterrània event.

    For the second consecutive year, Fira Mediterrània of Manresa Foundation is inviting entries for the 2.0 MobileArt photography competition. All people have to do is take photos on their mobile phones while Fira is running from 8 to 11 November 2012, then share the images on social networks, building up a mosaic of different views of Fira Mediterrània de Manresa.

From today until Sunday 25 October, Fira Mediterrània will be attending the world music festival Womex, which takes place this year in Budapest (Hungary). Fira is one of 20 Catalan companies and institutions -34% of the overall Spanish representation- attending Womex. Fira Mediterrània will be at the Generalitat [regional government] of Catalonia’s Ministry of Culture stand and, on Saturday, Fira will provide an aperitif with Estrella DAMM to promote networking with registered delegates.

Today and tomorrow, Fira Mediterrània will be attending the Crossroads of Ostrava conference, devoted to central European music. It is the event’s third year in the Czech Republic. The Crossroads line-up also features a range of showcases by local folk, acoustic and jazz bands that will gain exposure to industry professionals at the event.

Today, 11th September, we celebrate the National Day of Catalonia, declared officially since 1980 by the Parliament of Catalonia. This date commemorates symbolically defeat in 1714, which produced the painful loss of freedom of Catalan people, and claim for institutional and social values ​​and cultural identity in the hope of restoring Catalonia as a nation. Fira Mediterrania Manresa-Catalonia adheres to nationalist claim in our country.  

We’re pleased to announce details of the Speed Dating sessions at this year’s Fira Mediterrània of Manresa - Catalonia. What’s involved? Speed Dating sessions last two hours each and consist of 15-minute meetings among programmers, communication managers, agents, producers, artists and so on. They are intended to provide opportunities for contact between all registered delegates at Fira Mediterrània of Manresa and to expand the potential for doing business.

Jaume Casademont Foundation of Girona, a Fira Mediterrània of Manresa partner organisation, has increased the amount of money earmarked for the Innovation in Popular Culture Grants awarded every year at the Manresa market. A new second grant of €2,500 is to be added to the total of €5,000 allocated in previous years. This year will be the fourth time the grants have been awarded, with €7,500 now available for artists and creative professionals. The new grant focuses on small-format projects.

From today until Sunday, the stand of the FiraTàrrega will be at the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, taking part in the 2019 version of this event, which is devoted to the performing arts.

Fira Mediterrània of Manresa is embarking on a new stage in its internationalization programme with an appearance at the Mirabilia International Circus & Performing Arts Festival taking place in the Italian town of Fossano from 19 to 23 June. The Mirabilia festival is held every June and the programme features performances by many artistically talented international circus companies.  Mirabilia is one of the biggest fairs in Europe in terms of performing arts creativity and promotion.
