Following its success in 2011, when 1,251 international delegates from 28 countries attended Mediterrania Professional Meeting (MPM) held as part of Fira Mediterrània of Manresa/Catalonia (Spain), registration is now open for the 15th edition, planned for 8th to 11th November 2012.
The sixth world pop music festival NoBorder takes place in Brest (Brittany, France) from 8 to 11 December. Fira Mediterrània has been invited to attend as a result of agreements of exchange in place this year with different cultural agents in Brittany.

The Algerian opera ‘Boualem Bessaih’ currently includes a performance by the Menorca-based pianist Marco Mezquida and the guitarist 'Chicuelo', thanks to Fira Mediterrània Manresa's national and international plan of action.
The candidature unites cultural and natural heritage, and has a cross-border geographical reach UNESCO, through its Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of Heritage, has included the Pyrenees summer solstice fire festivals in its Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The announcement was made following a meeting of the UNESCO Committee in Namibia, where an agreement to include the candidature was made.
The job of publicising Fira Mediterrània of Manresa 2013 abroad is to be taken on by journalist Jordi Urpí Tallada, who will be travelling to international fairs where Fira Mediterrània sends delegates and has its own stand: Babel Med Music (France), Feria Internacional de Teatro y Danza in Huesca, Womex in Cardiff (Wales, United Kingdom) and Medimex (Italy). Urpí has served on the artistic committees of events such as Womex; Diversons, run by La Caixa’s social action programme; and between 2006 and 2011 Fira Mediterrània.
9 pm on Thursday, 9th February, a feature about music from Catalunya and the Mediterranean, with comments by restauranteur Paddy Byrne who visited for the first time with PhilipDavid Ellwand on Geoff Speed's Folkscene, BBC North Radio Merseyside. An extended version will be on PRX from 12th February.

The 17th Fira Mediterrània of Manresa announces the last few days of the reduced rates for both the stands area in the Business Area and for professional accreditations. Accreditation includes access to all the shows programmed, to conference sessions, to networking meetings and to the speed-dating sessions. Take advantage of the discounts available until Monday 7 July.
As part of the partnerships that Fira Mediterrània Manresa has established with many institutions and companies, we are happy to announce that we will sponsor one of the awards of the Nit de Circ Català organized by Zirkolika, Revista de les Arts Circenses (Spain) and will include one of the winning companies in the program of the 16th edition of Fira Mediterrania Manresa / Catalonia. Fira will attend the award ceremony to be held the 18th December in Barcelona!
The 20th annual conference held by the Catalan Federation of Trade Fairs (FEFIC), of which Fira Mediterrània of Manresa is a member, will be taking place on 21 and 22 November at Vinseum (the Catalan Wine Cultures Museum) in Vilafranca del Penedès. The programme for the conference, which is being attended by Fira Mediterrània, includes talks and themed round table discussions, plus a series of other activities.
The performing Arts and Music Fair Internationale Kulturbörse Freiburg —now in its 29th year— is taking place from 22 to 25 January.
Fira Mediterrània Manresa is one of fifteen Catalan companies and organisations taking part in the Babel Med Music forum in Marseille from 26 to 28 March. It is the most highly acclaimed world music market in France and one of the most renowned events for world music internationally. BabelMed Music is a major networking hub for Catalan companies, as the first port of call for Catalan artists entering the French market.
September is a busy month for fairs and the international projection of the Fira Mediterrània of Manresa. It is now in the final stage starting with the Padeborn Fair (Germany), with which Manresa have excellent relations started last year, continuing with the 31st Tàrrega street theatre Fair held from 8th to 11th September, where a stand will be installed in the professional association, and Manresa is now in the final phase of offering reduced rates for professionals wishing to attend the “Mediterrània Professional Meeting”. Last year, during this same phase, the Fira Mediterrània attracted the attention of 1,160 professionals which produced 1,650 contracts, according to the results of the cultural impact survey carried out by the University of Deusto, and financed by the Ministry of Culture. Buying and selling companies can attend the Fair, or have a stand in the main business area of the Professional Association, or in another business area in Passeig Pere III.
The programme is the main promotional tool for Fira Mediterrània of Manresa, with some 50,000 copies being distributed through a wide range of outlets several months before the event. While Fira is running, the programme becomes an essential source of information for around 100,000 visitors and spectators.
As a result of the 2015 Fira Mediterrània Manresa National and International Plan of Action, two Catalan bands will perform abroad this week.
As part of its internationalisation programme, Fira Mediterrània Manresa-Catalonia is taking part in the Mirabilia International Circus & Performing Arts Festival, in the Italian city of Fossano, from 18-22 June. The Mirabilia Festival is held each June, featuring acclaimed performances by international contemporary circus companies with outstanding artistic value. Mirabilia is a European benchmark festival for the creation and dissemination of performing arts.
